Description
These Valentine’s Day Truffles feature a perfect blend of vanilla Oreos and cream cheese, covered in smooth white chocolate, making them an irresistible treat for any occasion. They’re simple to prepare and packed with delightful flavor, ideal for homemade gifts or special celebrations.
Ingredients
Scale
- 36 vanilla oreos about 15 ounces
- 1 8-ounce block cream cheese softened
- 14–16 ounces white chocolate melts *see notes
- red oil-based food coloring optional (or powdered)
- sprinkles optional
Instructions
- Prepare a sheet pan with parchment paper and set aside for freezing or refrigerating.
- In a food processor, crush the Oreos in 10-second increments until fine crumbs form.
- Mix the Oreo crumbs with softened cream cheese in a bowl, preferably using your hands for thorough blending.
- Scoop about 1.5 tablespoons of the mixture to form truffles and place them on the baking sheet. Roll them into smooth balls and freeze for 30 minutes or refrigerate for 1 hour.
- Melt the white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl using 20-second intervals, stirring in between, or use a double boiler over simmering water.
- Add a small drop of food coloring to the melted chocolate for coloring, if desired.
- Use a fork to dip each truffle into the melted chocolate, ensuring they are fully coated. Tap off any excess chocolate and place them back on the sheet.
- For a decorative drizzle, chill the truffles for about 10 minutes, then add your drizzle as desired.
- Sprinkle any toppings while the chocolate is still wet. Let the chocolate set at room temperature for about 2 hours.
Notes
Ensure the cream cheese is fully softened for easier mixing.
Use a quality white chocolate for the best melting and coating results.
