Description

These Valentine Chocolate Covered Pretzels for kids are a delightful treat featuring a perfect blend of salty and sweet flavors. With just a few simple ingredients and an easy prep method, they make for a fun and delicious snack for any celebration.


Ingredients

  • 8 ounces (226g) semi-sweet or white chocolate (two 4-ounce bars), finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon vegetable oil or coconut oil
  • 4 cups pretzels
  • optional: sprinkles for topping

Instructions

  • Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  • Melt the chocolate with vegetable oil using a double boiler or in the microwave. For microwave use, place chocolate and oil in a medium heat-proof bowl, microwave for 20-second increments, stirring each time until melted and smooth.
  • Dip each pretzel into the melted chocolate, lift it with a fork, then tap to remove excess. Use a toothpick to transfer the pretzel onto the lined baking sheet and add sprinkles if desired while the chocolate is still wet.
  • Refrigerate the pretzels for 20-30 minutes to allow the chocolate to set. Once set, store in an airtight container at room temperature or in the refrigerator.

Notes

For a fun twist, mix different colored sprinkles to match any occasion.
Make sure the chocolate is completely melted for a smooth coating on the pretzels.
