Ingredients
Scale

- 1/2 lemon
- 1.5 tablespoons butter (softened)
- Salt & pepper (to taste)
Instructions
- Dry the chicken with paper towels.
- Pierce the lemon half with a knife a few times, and place it in the cavity of the chicken.
- Starting breast side up, rub the chicken with half the butter and season generously with salt & pepper.
- Turn the chicken over, butter the underside, and season with salt & pepper.
- Preheat the air fryer to 350°F.
- Place the chicken in the air fryer basket breast-side down and cook for 30 minutes.
- Turn the chicken over to breast-side up and cook for another 25 minutes or until golden and an instant-read thermometer reads at least 160°F.
- Let the chicken rest for 10 minutes before carving to allow the juices to redistribute.
Notes
For added flavor, consider adding herbs like rosemary or thyme when seasoning the chicken.
Always ensure the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F for safety.
You can use the juices that collect at the bottom of the air fryer for delicious gravy.
