Description

This Shrimp Alfredo Garlic Bread features a wonderful blend of savory shrimp, creamy Alfredo sauce, and gooey cheese on toasted Italian bread. It’s perfect for a quick dinner or a comforting meal that impresses.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 loaf italian bread, sliced lengthwise
  • ½ cup (1 stick / 113 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 pound (31 to 35 per pound) medium shrimp, peeled, deveined, tails removed
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 small yellow onion, diced (about ½ cup)
  • 2 teaspoons garlic, minced
  • 2 cups (476 g) heavy whipping cream
  • 2 cups (200 g) parmesan cheese, finely grated
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 cup (113 g) mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup (113 g) white cheddar cheese, shredded
  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and prepare a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Spread the softened butter over the sliced Italian bread and sprinkle with garlic salt.
  3. Place the bread cut-side up on the baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
  4. In a large skillet, heat olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Stir in the minced garlic, followed by the shrimp, kosher salt, black pepper, and cook until shrimp are pink and cooked through, around 3-5 minutes.
  6. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer, stirring occasionally.
  7. Add in the parmesan cheese, stir until melted, followed by the remaining salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes.
  8. Remove from heat and stir in the mozzarella and white cheddar cheese until fully melted and well mixed.
  9. Spread the shrimp Alfredo mixture generously over the toasted bread and return the baking sheet to the oven for 5-7 minutes, until bubbly and golden on top.
  10. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

For added flavor, consider adding spinach or artichoke to the shrimp mixture.
Make sure to use fresh seafood for the best taste and texture.
This dish can be assembled ahead of time and baked just before serving.
