Description

Salty Potato Chip Rice Krispie Treats offer a delightful blend of buttery, gooey goodness and crispy chips. This simple recipe combines marshmallows and rice krispies with potato chips for a unique snack that’s perfect for parties or a sweet craving. Enjoy these easy-to-make treats at any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 2 (10 ounce) bags mini marshmallows
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 6 cups rice krispies cereal
  • 2 cups crushed kettle cooked potato chips
  • 2 ounces dark chocolate, melted

Instructions

  1. Spray a 9×13 inch pan with nonstick baking spray.
  2. Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat until brown bits appear, then reduce heat to low.
  3. Add 1 bag of marshmallows and ¼ of the second bag; stir until creamy and fully melted. Turn off the heat and mix in vanilla extract.
  4. Add rice krispies cereal and mix until halfway incorporated, then add potato chips and stir until well combined.
  5. Incorporate the remaining marshmallows until they are evenly distributed. Press mixture into the prepared pan using wax or parchment paper.
  6. Melt the chocolate in the microwave in 30-second increments, stirring after each until smooth. Drizzle over the rice krispy treats.
  7. Allow chocolate to set before cutting the treats into squares.

Notes

For a more intense flavor, use flavored kettle chips.
Store leftover treats in an airtight container to maintain crispness.
