- 6 tablespoons butter
- 2 (10 ounce) bags mini marshmallows
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 6 cups rice krispies cereal
- 2 cups crushed kettle cooked potato chips
- 2 ounces dark chocolate, melted
Instructions
- Spray a 9×13 inch pan with nonstick baking spray.
- Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat until brown bits appear, then reduce heat to low.
- Add 1 bag of marshmallows and ¼ of the second bag; stir until creamy and fully melted. Turn off the heat and mix in vanilla extract.
- Add rice krispies cereal and mix until halfway incorporated, then add potato chips and stir until well combined.
- Incorporate the remaining marshmallows until they are evenly distributed. Press mixture into the prepared pan using wax or parchment paper.
- Melt the chocolate in the microwave in 30-second increments, stirring after each until smooth. Drizzle over the rice krispy treats.
- Allow chocolate to set before cutting the treats into squares.
Notes
For a more intense flavor, use flavored kettle chips.
Store leftover treats in an airtight container to maintain crispness.
