- Melt the unsalted butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat, stirring frequently until it foams and turns golden brown, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
- Whisk together the brown sugar and the slightly cooled browned butter in a large mixing bowl until smooth. Add the lightly beaten eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually combine this dry mixture with the wet ingredients until just incorporated, leaving a few lumps.
- Fold in the milk chocolate and dark chocolate chips using a spatula for even distribution.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, greasing lightly.
- Spread the cookie bar batter evenly in the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 20-25 minutes until edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs.
