Description

This Pork Piccata is a delightful dish that brings together tender pork chops, a zesty sauce of lemon and capers, and creamy goodness. With its straightforward preparation and mouthwatering flavors, it’s ideal for a quick dinner or a comforting meal any night of the week.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 pork chops
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Flour (for dredging)
  • 4 tablespoons butter, divided
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth or dry white wine
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice + zest of 1 lemon
  • 1 tablespoon brined capers, drained
  • 1/2 cup heavy/whipping cream
  • Garnish (optional) chopped parsley and/or freshly grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Generously season the pork chops with salt, pepper, and garlic powder, then coat them in flour.
  2. In a skillet over medium-high heat, add half the butter and the olive oil.
  3. Once hot, sear the pork chops for 3-5 minutes per side until golden brown, then transfer to a plate.
  4. Remove the skillet from the heat and add the chicken broth, lemon juice, lemon zest, the remaining butter, and capers, scraping any browned bits from the bottom.
  5. Stir in the cream and return the skillet to heat; once bubbling, add the pork back in.
  6. Cook for an additional 3-5 minutes until the pork is cooked through and the sauce reduces to your liking.
  7. Serve with optional chopped parsley and/or grated parmesan.

Notes

Serve immediately for the best flavor and texture.
This dish can be paired with pasta or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
Experiment with different types of vinegar or wine for a unique twist.
