This Pear Crisp combines sweet, juicy pears with a crunchy oat topping, making it a comforting dessert ideal for gatherings or a cozy night in. Perfect served warm with ice cream!

- 4 cups pears (peeled and thinly sliced from 5–6 pears)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 cup rolled oats (gluten free, if needed)
- 1/3 cup all purpose flour (gluten free, if needed)
- 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1/2 cup pecans or walnuts (optional, chopped)
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 2-quart baking dish with butter or non-stick cooking spray.
- In a large bowl, combine the pears, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it into an even layer.
- In the same bowl, mix together the oats, all-purpose flour, and brown sugar. If desired, stir in the chopped pecans or walnuts at this stage.
- Cut the unsalted butter into the dry mixture with a fork, pastry cutter, or your fingers until it forms crumbles.
- Evenly sprinkle the crumbles over the pear mixture in the baking dish.
- Bake for 45 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the pears are hot and bubbling around the edges. Let cool slightly before serving.
- Enjoy warm, at room temperature, or chilled.

Add ice cream on top for an extra treat while serving.
