- ⅔ cup granulated sugar

- ¼ cup packed brown sugar
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
Instructions
- Drain the thawed berries thoroughly and place them in a medium saucepan with ⅓ cup of water.
- Heat the berries over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until they begin to break down, about 3-5 minutes.
- In a small bowl, combine the cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water until smooth.
- Add sugar and lemon juice to the berries, then incorporate the cornstarch slurry, stirring constantly.
- Continue to heat until the mixture thickens and bubbles, about 1-3 minutes, then remove from heat.
- Transfer the mixture to a bowl or jar and let it cool completely, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
Notes
Use fresh berries for a more intense flavor if available.
Ensure the berry mixture is cooled completely before filling the pie crust to prevent sogginess.
Feel free to add a pinch of cinnamon for extra flavor.
