- 1 1/4 sticks unsalted butter (1/2 cup + 2 tbsp)
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
- 2 tbsp matcha powder
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 3 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 3 large eggs
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter and white chocolate chips until smooth. Stir in matcha powder and let it cool slightly.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine granulated sugar, brown sugar, and kosher salt.
- Add eggs and vanilla extract to the sugar mixture and mix until well combined.
- Gently fold in the flour until no streaks remain.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish.
- Drizzle the slightly cooled matcha ganache evenly over the top.
- Bake for 30 minutes or until the edges are set and a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.
Notes
Make sure the butter and chocolate are not too hot when adding matcha to prevent clumping.
For a richer flavor, let the brownies sit for a few hours after baking before cutting them.
Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
