Description

These Key Lime Pie Bars are a delightful treat with a crumbly graham cracker crust and a creamy, zesty filling. Simple to prepare, they bring a refreshing flavor, perfect for gatherings or a sweet end to any meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 6 tablespoons salted butter (melted)
  • 28 ounces sweetened condensed milk
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 4 large egg yolks
  • ¾ cup key lime juice
  • ¼ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons lime zest (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C).
  2. Line a 9” square baking dish with parchment paper, leaving handles, and lightly grease.
  3. In a bowl, mix graham cracker crumbs, sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter until combined.
  4. Press the mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  5. In another bowl, mix sweetened condensed milk, sour cream, egg yolks, key lime juice, vanilla extract, and lime zest until smooth.
  6. Pour the filling over the crust in the baking dish.
  7. Bake for about 15-20 minutes until set.
  8. Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars.

Notes

For a firmer filling, ensure to bake until just set and refrigerate for a few hours before serving.
You can substitute regular lime juice if key limes are unavailable.
These bars are perfect served chilled and topped with whipped cream.
