Description

This Homemade Apple Cider Syrup features a delightful blend of apple juice and spices, creating a sweet and comforting topping for your breakfast favorites. Easy to prepare, it’s a must-have for pancake lovers and dessert enthusiasts alike!


Ingredients

  • 2 cups apple juice, or fresh apple cider
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1½ tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a heavy bottomed saucepan, heat the apple juice, brown sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, apple cider vinegar, and butter over medium heat. Whisk to combine.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil and boil for 2 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Allow the syrup to cool completely before serving it with pancakes, waffles, French toast, or ice cream.

Notes

Store syrup in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
The syrup can also be used as a topping for desserts like ice cream or cakes.
