Description

Hamburger Hash is a comforting dish packed with flavor, featuring tender potatoes, juicy ground beef, and melted cheese. Perfect for a quick and hearty meal!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 medium russet potatoes peeled and 1/2-inch diced
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 medium white onion diced
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon cracked black pepper
  • 2½ cups freshly shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Boil cubed potatoes in salted water for 5–7 minutes until fork-tender. Drain and set aside to steam-dry.
  2. In a large non-stick skillet over high heat, cook the ground beef until fully browned. Drain excess fat and set beef aside.
  3. In the same skillet over medium heat, fry vegetable oil, onion, potatoes, Italian seasoning, garlic, salt, and pepper for 5 minutes until golden-brown.
  4. Stir in the cooked beef and mix well. Sprinkle cheese over the top and stir until melted and glossy.
  5. Remove from heat and serve hot.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding bell peppers or other vegetables to the mix.
Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, and can be reheated in the microwave.
Substitute with ground turkey for a leaner option.
