Ingredients
Scale
- 4 full-size corn on the cob (ears) – with or without husk
- ¼ tsp oil if using a griddle pan, optional
- 30 g butter or dairy free alternative
- seasoning (salt/pepper/herbs/chilli flakes)
Instructions
- Prepare all butters and seasonings ahead of time for convenience.
- If the corn has husks, peel them back and remove the internal silk and tassels to expose the kernels cleanly.
- Preheat the barbecue, grill, or griddle pan on high. Ensure BBQ coals are red and glowing, and the grill or griddle pan is heated for several minutes.
- If using a griddle pan, lightly brush it with oil; oil is optional for BBQ and grill.
- Place the corn cobs on the grill or in the griddle pan.
- Turn the corn frequently until it turns a deeper yellow, is juicy, and has slight charring, cooking for 8 to 10 minutes maximum.
- Once done, remove from heat and serve immediately with your favorite butter and seasonings.
Notes
For enhanced flavor, try various butters such as garlic or herb butter.
Watch the corn closely while cooking to prevent overcooking and ensure juiciness.
