Description

Grandma’s Oatmeal Raisin Cookies offer an irresistible flavor with a blend of oats, raisins, and a touch of sweetness. Perfect for sharing with friends or enjoying as a comforting snack, this simple recipe makes it easy to enjoy homemade goodness any time.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups old-fashioned oats
  • 1 cup raisins

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt. Stir in old-fashioned oats and set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, beat together softened butter, brown sugar, and sugar until well combined. Add in egg and vanilla and mix until fully combined, stopping to scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.
  3. Mix in the dry ingredients until just combined, then mix in raisins.
  4. Cover the cookie dough and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  6. Once the dough is chilled, place 1 1/2 tbsp size scoops of cookie dough on the prepared baking sheet, leaving room between the cookies to spread.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
  8. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool.

Notes

For softer cookies, do not overbake them.
Chilling the dough helps the flavors develop and makes the cookies chewier.
