- 1 cup milk (240 grams)
- 4 teaspoons cherry blossom syrup
- 2 teaspoons matcha powder
- ½ cup hot water
- ¼ cup cream, optional (60 grams)
Instructions
- Sift the matcha powder through a fine mesh sieve into a small bowl.
- Add ¼ cup of hot water (170℉ or 80°C) to the matcha and whisk until it becomes foamy.
- Pour in the remaining hot water and mix gently until combined.
- In a jug or bowl, combine the milk and cherry blossom syrup, stirring well.
- Fill two large serving glasses halfway with ice cubes and pour in the Sakura milk mixture.
- Carefully pour the matcha tea over the milk, doing so slowly to maintain the layered effect.
- If desired, finish with a dollop of cream and serve.
Notes
For a richer flavor, consider using whole milk or a milk alternative of your choice.
Ensure the water is not boiling when adding to the matcha to preserve its flavor.
Adjust the amount of cherry blossom syrup to taste for sweetness.
