  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 large yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 teaspoons garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Pound the chicken breasts to about ½ to ¾ inch thickness for even cooking, or slice large ones in half horizontally.
  2. Season the chicken with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder on both sides.
  3. Place the flour in a shallow bowl and dredge the chicken lightly, shaking off the excess flour.
  4. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the chicken and cook for 4 to 5 minutes on each side until golden brown, though it doesn’t need to be fully cooked at this point. Transfer the chicken to a plate and set aside.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider marinating the chicken in the spices for a few hours before cooking.
