Description

These Easy Caramel Chocolate Mousse Domes offer an irresistible taste with simple preparation. Featuring chocolate, caramel, and berries, they’re a perfect treat for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz quality chocolate semi-sweet or dark chocolate
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter can substitute with vegan butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream coconut cream for dairy-free option
  • 1 tbsp gelatin consider agar-agar for vegetarian option
  • 1 cup granulated sugar coconut sugar for less refined sweetness
  • 1 tsp sea salt fleur de sel for gourmet finish
  • 1 cup fresh berries for vibrant presentation
  • 1/4 cup chocolate shavings for elegant finish

Instructions

  • Melt the chocolate and unsalted butter together in a double boiler, stirring gently until smooth. Set aside to cool slightly.
  • Whip the heavy cream in a large mixing bowl until soft peaks form. Fold it into the cooled chocolate mixture gently.
  • Cook granulated sugar in a medium saucepan over medium heat until golden amber. Add butter and heavy cream while stirring continuously until smooth, then add sea salt.
  • Spoon the mousse into dome molds, creating an indentation in each. Fill with salted caramel and cover with more mousse. Chill for at least 4 hours.
  • Unmold the chilled mousse domes by gently pressing on the sides and serve chilled.
  • Optional: Garnish with fresh berries or chocolate shavings before serving.

Notes

For a vegetarian option, consider using agar-agar instead of gelatin.
Chilling the mousse for more than 4 hours will enhance the flavors and texture.
Feel free to use any type of berries for garnish.
