Description
This Crockpot Onion Dip combines caramelized onions, cream cheese, and sour cream for an irresistible flavor. It’s easy to prepare and perfect for any gathering!
Ingredients

- 3 large onions
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 4 ounces cream cheese (softened)
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 teaspoons hot sauce (optional)
Instructions
- Slice each onion in half, discard the ends, and peel.
- Cut the onion halves into thin strips.
- In the crockpot, add the sliced onions and drizzle with olive oil. Season with salt and pepper, then mix to coat.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours, or keep warm until ready to make the dip.
- Stir in sour cream, softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, and optional hot sauce until well combined.
- Taste the dip and adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper if desired.
- Serve warm directly from the crockpot or chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving as a cold dip.
Notes
For a thicker dip, consider draining some of the juices after cooking the onions.
This dip can easily be made overnight, allowing for a fresh dip in the morning.
Garnish with fresh herbs for added flavor and presentation.
