Ingredients

  • 6 bone-in skin-on chicken thighs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • ¾ cup yellow mustard
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken thighs evenly on both sides.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, heat the oil and sear the thighs skin-side down until golden brown and crisp.
  3. Transfer the chicken to the slow cooker, skin-side up.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the mustard, honey, brown sugar, vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce until smooth.
  5. Pour the sauce around the chicken to preserve the skin while cooking.
  6. Cover and cook on LOW for 5–6 hours until the chicken becomes tender.
  7. Uncover the slow cooker in the last 30 minutes to allow the sauce to thicken.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can marinate the chicken overnight in the mustard sauce.
Substitute apple cider vinegar with white vinegar if needed. The sauce can be adjusted by adding more honey for sweetness.
