Description
These Chocolate Covered Mint Oreos are a delightful treat that’s incredibly easy to make. With mint Oreos coated in smooth semisweet chocolate and topped with green sprinkles, they’re perfect for sharing at gatherings or enjoying as a quick dessert at home.
Ingredients
Scale
- 24 mint flavored Oreos
- 16 ounces semisweet chocolate disks
- 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract
- 2 tablespoons green sprinkles
Instructions
- Place the semisweet chocolate disks in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat for 30 seconds, then stir. Continue heating in 30-second bursts, stirring until smooth.
- Add the peppermint extract to the melted chocolate and mix well.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
- Submerge an Oreo cookie in the chocolate using a fork. Lift it out and gently tap the fork against the bowl to let excess chocolate drip.
- Transfer the chocolate-coated Oreo onto the prepared parchment paper.
- Once all cookies are dipped, pour leftover melted chocolate into a small piping bag or a Ziploc bag with the corner snipped off.
- Drizzle the chocolate over the cookies in a zigzag pattern, then immediately sprinkle with green sprinkles.
- Allow the cookies to sit at room temperature for 30-60 minutes, or refrigerate for 15 minutes until the chocolate is set.
Notes
For a fun variation, try using white chocolate instead of semisweet chocolate.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in a cool place for up to one week.
