- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg room temperature
- 1 egg yolk room temperature
- 1 ½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Whisk melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a large bowl for two minutes.
- Add vanilla extract, egg, and egg yolk, whisking until light and creamy.
- Mix in flour, baking soda, corn starch, and salt until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips.
- Scoop out cookie dough (about 1/4 cup per cookie), roll into balls, and chill in refrigerator for 1 hour or freezer for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 325°F.
- Place chilled cookie dough balls about 3 inches apart on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until edges are golden and center appears slightly underbaked.
- Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to finish cooling.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
Notes
For chewier cookies, do not overmix the dough after adding the flour.
