- ⅓ cup plain bread crumbs
- ½ cup milk
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, finely diced or grated
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 pound ground pork
- 2 large eggs
- 3 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon taco seasoning
- 2 cans tomato sauce, 15 ounces each
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon cumin
- 6 ounces shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- In a large bowl, mix together the breadcrumbs, milk, olive oil, onion, ground beef, ground pork, eggs, garlic, salt, pepper, and taco seasoning until just combined.
- Shape the mixture into meatballs about the size of golf balls, and arrange them in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In another bowl, combine the tomato sauce, chili powder, salt, oregano, black pepper, and cumin. Pour this sauce over the meatballs and sprinkle with cheese.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the meatballs are fully cooked and reach an internal temperature of 160˚F.

You can use a mix of different cheeses for a unique flavor.
