- 6 granny smith apples, cut into 1/2" pieces
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce
- 8 tablespoons butter, room temperature
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2/3 cup light brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
- In a bowl, combine the diced apples and lemon juice, stirring to coat the apples. Sprinkle the flour and cinnamon over the apples and toss until well combined. Transfer to a 9" pie plate.
- Drizzle about 1/2 cup of caramel sauce over the apple mixture and set aside.
- In a large bowl, mix together the softened butter, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and oats until you achieve a crumbly texture.
- Evenly sprinkle the oat topping over the apple mixture in the pie plate.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 35-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly, then drizzle additional caramel on top before serving.
Notes
Try using a mix of apples for added flavor.
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream for a delicious treat.
Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
