- 1 1/2 ounces añejo tequila
- 1 1/2 ounces homemade sweet and sour mix
- 3/4 ounce orange liqueur (cointreau or triple sec)
- 2 cups water (for sweet and sour mix)
- 1 cup granulated sugar (for sweet and sour mix)
- 1/2 cup fresh lime juice (about 5 – 7 small limes)
- 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice (about 2 medium lemons)
Instructions
- Simmer the water and sugar in a saucepan to create a sugar syrup until dissolved, then allow to cool.
- Once cooled, stir in fresh lime juice and fresh lemon juice to create the sweet and sour mix.
- Prepare the glass by rimming it with lime and kosher salt, then fill it with ice.
- In a shaker, combine the tequila, sweet and sour mix, and orange liqueur with ice, shaking until cold.
- Strain the mixture into the prepared glass over ice and garnish with a lime wedge.
