Description

Experience mouthwatering BBQ Ribs that are perfectly tender with a flavorful spice rub and tangy sauce. This easy recipe delivers delicious flavor and is perfect for gatherings or a weekend treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 ½ teaspoons granulated garlic or garlic powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ to ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper, to taste
  • 2 racks pork baby back ribs, 2.5 to 3 pounds total weight
  • ½ cup BBQ sauce, or as needed

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 300°F with the oven rack in the center. Line a large rimmed baking sheet with foil.
  2. In a small bowl, combine all ingredients for the dry rub.
  3. Remove ribs from packaging and rinse under cool water. Dry with paper towels. If a membrane is present, lift it with a knife and remove it by gripping with a paper towel.
  4. Place the ribs, meaty side down, on a large sheet of heavy-duty foil. Rub about one-third of the seasoning mix on the bony side, then flip and rub the remaining seasoning on the meaty side. Wrap the ribs in the foil and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Bake in the oven for 2 hours, or until the ribs are very tender when pierced with a fork.
  6. Once baked, set the oven to BROIL. Carefully remove the foil packet from the baking sheet and unseal it. Transfer the ribs to the baking sheet, meaty side down. Baste the bony side with BBQ sauce, flip the ribs, and generously baste the meaty side. Return to the oven to broil for 4 to 6 minutes or until caramelized.
  7. After broiling, let the ribs rest for about 5 minutes, then slice into individual ribs using a serrated knife.

Notes

For extra smoky flavor, add a bit of liquid smoke to the BBQ sauce.
Experiment with different BBQ sauces to find your perfect flavor.
Ensure ribs are cooked until tender for the best texture.
