Description

Baked Peaches are a delightful dessert featuring ripe peaches topped with butter, brown sugar, and spices. This simple recipe is perfect for a cozy evening or entertaining guests, providing a warm, comforting flavor that pairs well with vanilla ice cream.


Ingredients

  • 4 peaches ripe but firm, halved and pitted
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter cut into small cubes
  • 4 tablespoons brown sugar light or dark
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • Splash of bourbon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and lightly butter a small baking dish that can hold the peaches snugly.
  2. Place the halved peaches cut-side up in the baking dish.
  3. In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt; sprinkle this mixture evenly over the peaches.
  4. Dot each peach half with butter, then drizzle with vanilla, lemon juice, and bourbon.
  5. Top the peaches with the remaining brown sugar mixture.
  6. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until the peaches are fork-tender and the tops are lightly caramelized.
  7. Serve warm with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

Ripe but firm peaches work best for this recipe to hold their shape during baking.
Feel free to substitute the bourbon with an extra splash of vanilla for a non-alcoholic version.
