Description

These Baked Apple Cider Donuts are fluffy, flavorful, and easy to make! Made with fresh apple cider, aromatic spices, and a touch of sweetness, they make for a delightful treat any time of day.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1½ cups apple cider
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until well combined.
  3. In another large bowl, whisk together the apple cider, sugar, buttermilk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  5. Fill greased donut molds about 2/3 full with the batter.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 7-9 minutes, or until the tops spring back when pressed and edges are golden brown.
  7. Allow the donuts to cool for 2 minutes, then carefully remove them from the molds onto a sheet tray.
  8. In a bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon together. Brush the tops of the donuts with melted butter and dip into the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  9. Enjoy the donuts warm or at room temperature.

Notes

Make sure to grease the donut molds well for easy removal.
Store leftover donuts in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
For a fun twist, try adding chopped apples or nuts to the batter.
