- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tsp milk

Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and salt. Mix well to ensure there are no clumps.
- In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with vanilla extract, then pour over the dry ingredients. Combine until crumbs begin to form.
- Cover the mixture and place it in the refrigerator to chill.
- Prepare a separate bowl with chopped gala apples, granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and nutmeg; mix well and set aside.
- In another bowl, cream room temperature unsalted butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Stir in the sour cream and milk until smooth, followed by the vanilla extract.
- In a different bowl, whisk together the 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Gently fold in the apple mixture into the batter, then pour everything into a prepared baking dish.
- Top with the chilled crumb mixture from earlier, spreading it evenly over the batter.
- Bake in a preheated oven until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Notes
Ensure the apples are chopped evenly for consistent baking.
