Description

This Apple Cider Donut Bundt Cake combines irresistible flavors with simple preparation, making it a must-try dessert for gatherings or cozy meals at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups (500 g) all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups (600 g) granulated sugar
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 4 teaspoons apple pie spice
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 ½ cups apple cider, or apple juice
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • ¼ cup (½ stick / 57 g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup apple cider
  • ½ cup (100 g) granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons apple pie spice

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Generously grease a 10 to 12 cup Bundt pan with baking spray or butter and flour.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, apple pie spice, and kosher salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix the apple cider, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Combine the wet mixture with the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just mixed; the batter should be slightly thin, be careful not to overmix.
  5. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared Bundt pan.
  6. Bake for 50 to 65 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick in the thickest part of the cake.
  7. Allow to cool in the pan for 10 to 15 minutes before inverting onto a wire rack.
  8. Brush or drizzle ¼ cup of apple cider over the warm cake.
  9. Mix the sugar and apple pie spice in a small bowl. While the cake is warm, sprinkle and press this sugar mixture over the surface, ensuring even coverage.
  10. Let the cake cool completely before slicing.

Notes

Make sure to use room temperature eggs for better mixing.
Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick; it should come out with a few moist crumbs.
Allow the cake to cool slightly before applying the apple cider for better absorption.
