- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 tsp garlic minced
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1 cup half and half
- 1/2 teaspoon italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 2 cups freshly grated parmesan cheese
- up to 1/4 cup hot milk or pasta water (optional)
- 1 pkg fettuccine noodles – cooked to package directions
- freshly chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat and add minced garlic. Let it simmer for about a minute.
- Stir in the heavy cream and half and half, then whisk until combined and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Mix in the Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Stir in the Parmesan cheese, allowing it to melt slowly while mixing.
- Once the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth, whisk in small amounts of hot milk or pasta water until you achieve your desired consistency.
- Toss the sauce with the cooked fettuccine noodles and garnish with freshly chopped parsley as needed.
Notes
Add more parmesan for a richer flavor if desired.
For a spicier kick, include a pinch of red pepper flakes.
