These Classic Fudgy Brownies have an irresistible flavor with a crinkly top, made simple with just one bowl. Perfect for a cozy dessert or quick treat.

- 200 grams (1 cup) caster sugar or granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 115 grams (1/2 cup or 1 stick) unsalted butter
- 200 grams (1 and 1/3 cup) dark chocolate (45-70% cocoa), broken into pieces
- 70 grams (1/2 cup) plain flour or all purpose flour
- 20 grams (1/4 cup) cocoa powder, sifted
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 75 grams (1/2 cup) chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180 C (350 F) standard or 160 C (320 F) fan-forced. Grease and line an 8-inch square or round baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine sugar and eggs, whisking together until creamy and combined.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter and dark chocolate together in the microwave, stirring every 20 seconds until smooth.
- Add the melted chocolate mixture to the egg mixture and whisk until smooth.
- Incorporate the flour, cocoa powder, and salt into the mixture, stirring gently until a thick, smooth batter forms. Fold in chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan, smoothing it out evenly. Bake for about 30-35 minutes until shiny and the brownie no longer wobbles in the center, with a toothpick coming out almost clean.
- Allow the brownie to cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares. Store at room temperature or in the fridge, and they also freeze well.
Notes
For extra gooey brownies, do not overbake.
You can add nuts for added texture if desired.
Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
