Description

This Beef Chili is a hearty blend of ground pork, lean beef, and flavorful veggies. Perfect for a cozy dinner, it’s easy to make and full of comforting flavors that everyone will love. Enjoy it with mashed potatoes for a satisfying meal!


Ingredients

  • 1 med onion chopped
  • ½ lb ground pork
  • ½ lb extra lean ground beef
  • 227 g can of mushrooms (or use fresh)
  • 1 green pepper chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • ½ 35 g pkg clubhouse chili seasoning mix
  • ½ 35 g pkg clubhouse spicy seasoning mix
  • 128 oz can diced tomatoes (796 ml)
  • 1 10 -10 oz can tomato soup
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1540 ml can dark red kidney beans drained and rinsed
  • 2 tablespoon fresh dill finely chopped
  • 6 cups mashed potatoes optional * you can use leftover or instant mashed potatoes (see notes)
  • grated light cheese
  • light sour cream
  • additional fresh dill

Instructions

  • Brown the ground pork and beef with the chopped onion and pepper over medium-high heat.
  • Once browned, add the remaining ingredients except for dill, cheese, and mashed potatoes.
  • Simmer for 15 minutes over medium heat.
  • Stir in the fresh dill.
  • Continue simmering on low until the green peppers and onions are soft, about 5 to 10 more minutes.
  • Serve the chili over a cup of mashed potatoes, which is optional but recommended!

Notes

Fresh dill is essential for the best flavor.
You can use either canned mushrooms or fresh mushrooms according to availability.
Leftover or instant mashed potatoes can be used as a topping for convenience.
